I’m Talia. Originally from Glasgow, I now live in Southampton with my wife, my daughter, our dog, and five cats. I’m a full-time carer for my adult daughter, who is autistic.
Being creative has always been a constant in my life, whether through dancing, painting, or designing. I studied art in York, specialising in fashion and textiles, but it wasn’t until later (after a career as a dancer), that my love for textiles found its way back to me.
I create cosy, story-led artwork inspired by the British countryside and coast, using free motion embroidery. It’s a slow, thoughtful process that's full of personality. From the initial hand-drawn illustration to the finished piece, everything is designed to bring character and warmth into everyday spaces.
In April 2022, I was proud to receive the Theo Paphitis #SBS award, a recognition that meant a great deal to me and my work.
Thank you for supporting small, slow-made work.
